Path in the woods In 2003, Grand Rapids had the highest black infant mortality rate in Michigan at 22.4 deaths per 1000 live births -- by comparison, white mothers were three times more likely to have a successful pregnancy. A new West Michigan program that Arbor Circle is a part of called Baby Scholars focuses on disadvantaged youngsters to make sure they have some of the same opportunities for Pre-K experiences that kids in more upscale areas get.Click here to see the article.
