Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year\, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question\, persuade\, and refer someone to help. DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify\, understand\, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges. Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches adult learners how to assist adolescents between the ages of 12-18. \n\n\n\nThis course covers: \n\n\n\n\nCommon signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges\n\n\n\nHow to interact with a person in crisis and connect them to help\n\n\n\nExpanded content on trauma\, substance use\, and self-care\n\n\n\n\nTotal training time is 8 hours\, with 6 hours of live (virtual or in-person) instructor training\, and 2 hours of online pre-work.
