Why is substance use treatment so important?

Substance use remains a significant problem for families in our community, especially amidst the current national opioid crisis. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that the total “economic burden” of prescription opioid misuse in the United States alone is $78.5 billion a year, including the costs of healthcare, lost productivity, addiction treatment, and criminal justice involvement. At Arbor Circle, we see this treatment to be of the utmost importance to improve the social and economic welfare throughout West Michigan.
