foster care + adoption
Our dedicated Child Welfare team works to prevent child abuse and neglect in our community, as well as advocate for children in need. Arbor Circle welcomes and affirms our LGBTQ+ foster and adoptive families. We continue to advocate for inclusionary, safe, and equitable child welfare services while actively recruiting individuals and families of all identities to join us in serving our community’s children. Our Child Welfare offices are located in Muskegon and Ottawa, with services also provided in surrounding counties.

Foster care provides children with a temporary safe and nurturing home. Foster parents work in partnership with birth family members and child welfare professionals to provide support for the child during their time in care. Arbor Circle partners with foster families at every step of the way, supporting the needs of both the children and caregivers.
adoption
If a child in foster care is unable to return to his or her birth parents, our adoption team works to place the child in a loving, permanent home. Our trained and compassionate staff are committed to considering every factor and issue that may impact a child’s placement for adoption to ensure each child’s story is heard and embodied into their new forever family.
court appointed special advocates (CASA) of ottawa county
Almost 700,000 children experience abuse or neglect each year. For us at Arbor Circle, it is a priority to give vulnerable children a voice and provide someone who will speak on their behalf.
CASA are trained volunteers who champion for children in foster care throughout the entire court process. Our team at Arbor Circle works to recruit, train, and support CASA volunteers in Ottawa County. Through regular meetings with the child, our volunteers build a relationship to understand their needs. The CASA volunteer compiles information from attorneys, social workers, parents, and school personnel to assess and make recommendations to the court regarding the child’s future.
