The Strengthening Families framework is an evidence-based approach that identifies five protective factors that, when present and robust in families, help prevent child abuse and neglect as well as support optimal healthy growth and development in children.

Learn the history, research, and impact of the framework in the early education field
Understand the impact of trauma on individuals and families
Discuss the six Protective Factors and how each support the development and wellbeing of youth and prevents incidences of child maltreatment
Identify ways to make small changes in your practice to mitigate the impact of trauma
